Evelyn Curran
Jr. Camp Director
Originally from Chicago, Evelyn graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Since then, she has worked with children in a wide range of roles — babysitting, camp counseling, a child psychology unit, and ski camps and programs. Supporting kids as they grow, learn, and build confidence has always been the most rewarding part of her work.
After college, Evelyn moved to South Carolina, but Colorado had always been the dream. That dream became reality when she accepted a position with Ajax Adventure Camp and moved across the country to the Aspen Valley — a place she had never even visited before. Five years later, she is still here and couldn't imagine being anywhere else.
She'll be the first to admit she wasn't very outdoorsy before the mountains got ahold of her. Her first Colorado winter, she learned to ski — and that was it. She went on to become a ski instructor and now spends her winters on the mountain doing what she loves with kids just learning to find their ski legs.
When she's not at camp or on the slopes, you'll find her crafting, rock climbing, hiking, or hanging out with her cat. Evelyn has been running Ajax Jr Camp since 2022, and she is beyond excited for each year of adventure, growth, and fun. Ask her about cave exploring, perler beads, shaving cream relays, or water balloon battleship — these are her people.
