Danny has worked 15 different summers at kids’ camps where he has directed the Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Mountain Boarding, and Camping programs. He graduated cum Laude with honors from Dartmouth College with a BA in Economics and Environmental Studies. He earned his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to starting Ajax Adventure Camp, Danny was hired as P4P Energy’s first employee to help transform the patented revolutionary cable-truss support solar structures into a commercialized product. Danny also founded and directed the World Pro Skiing Foundation (dba Bob Beattie Ski Foundation), a non-profit dedicated to helping give financially-disadvantaged kids the opportunity to ski and ski race.
Danny also started Ivy League Camps, a summer camp similar to Ajax Adventure Camp based out of Shanghai, China. Within the next few years, Danny hopes to enable some Ajax Adventure Camp campers to come to China to experience a whole new kind of adventure.
Danny led Ajax Adventure Camp to be named ‘The 2013 Business of the Year’ by the Aspen Chamber of Commerce and was awarded ‘The 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year’ by the Aspen Chamber of Commerce due to the positive impact he, and camp, continues to have within the Aspen community.
Having grown-up backpacking, fishing, biking, hiking, climbing, and rafting in the Aspen area, he is thrilled to have the chance to present kids and teens with the opportunity to experience the natural surroundings and recreation opportunities that he has enjoyed all his life. Working at summer camps in the past, he was told many times by camp directors that he should start his own camp. He heeded their advice back in 2010, and brought his creativity, leadership, and desire to work with kids to create a premier camp for kids and teens in Aspen. He looks forward to seeing every camper embark on new adventures, learn important skills, and make friends who will last a lifetime.
