Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ari moved to Boulder, Colorado when he was ten years old and instantly fell in love with everything in the mountains including skiing, mountain biking, backpacking, and climbing. He spent his summers mountain biking across the state with Boulder’s renown Singletrack Mountain Bike Adventures and eventually spent several summers as a coach for their junior development program. After attending the University of Colorado and earning a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Economics, he moved to Aspen and began his career as a ski instructor, with an emphasis on skiing with kids. After several successful seasons Ari decided to pursue his intellectual curiosities by working on several political campaigns in New Mexico, the last of which, a United States Senate race, landed him in Washington, D. C. Though working in the Senate for several years as a Systems Administrator was exciting, it paled in comparison to going on adventures in the mountains with kids. Ari returned to Aspen last summer with a renewed passion for the outdoors.
Ari’s diverse professional experiences make him a unique asset to the camp. A Terra Method and National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) trained mountain bike guide and coach, we are excited to add his experience and passion to the camp’s mountain bike program.
